Funeral Of Rapper Heavy D Set For November 18th In NY

On Tuesday the world was in shock as the death of rapper Heavy D spread online. At only 44 years old, he began to have breathing problems after doing some shopping and his stylist found him at the front of his home nearly unconscious but responding...telling her he was having trouble breathing.

According to Essence.com, a private funeral has been scheduled for friday November 18th in New York at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Anyone is that area next Thursday (Nov. 17th) can attend the public viewing which will be held from 12 noon to 6pm. A wake will follow and ends at 8pm.

It is reported that a number of celebrities will attend the funeral and may include the likes of Diddy and Mary J. Blige. Heavy's brother, Ruddy Phillips, states that the cause of death could possibly be pneumonia which could have came about after his brother performed in Wales for Michael Jackson's tribute concert. Reports also state that Heavy D visited his doctor for flu-like symptoms a day before he passed.

Heavy D's autopsy has been completed but reports will possibly released in the coming weeks after toxicology tests are performed.
