Rap legend Dwight Arrington Myers, aka Heavy D, passed away today at an L.A. Hospital. After a phone call was made to police from his home, Heavy D was rushed to the hospital approximately 12 noon and was pronounced dead at 1pm. Reports state that he was found on his walkway unconscious and that's when the phone call was made.According to TMZ, Heavy D was conscious and speaking when help arrived but died a short time later. The is still an ongoing investigation and police, at the moment, feel there was no foul play that took place.
It is unclear on what caused his death but Heavy D seemed to be in good health at his most recent performances. The rapper made an appearance at the BET HipHop Awards this year and also performed at the Michael Jackson tribute concert.

Heavy D was known as a hit maker. One of his biggest was "Now That We Found Love" and he also wrote the theme song for "In Living Color."
