The moment is finally here as Beyonce has given birth to a baby girl in a New York hospital on Saturday. Proud dad Jay-Z was with Bey every step of the way as reports state baby Blue entered the world via c-section. Many celebrity friends of Jay and Bey took to twitter to send their congrats. Rihanna tweeted "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih" while Gwyneth Paltrow wrote "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already."
As for the name, it is not a secret that Bey's favorite number is 4. So to break it down, the name "Blue" was given as a dedication to Jay because of his album "Blueprint" and her middle name Ivy came from her parents' favorite number (4) which is represented by the roman numeral IV or "Ivy." The number 4 also represents the day of the month Jay and Bey were born on, their wedding date and they also has the number tattooed on their ring fingers.
