Airing at 9pm tonight, VH1 has decided to celebrate soul with some of the biggest names in music. With the first show launching in 1998 and including the likes of Aretha Franklin, Shania Twain and Celine Dion, the 2011 show will also be sure to please. Taking a little hiatus after its 2004 event, VH1 Divas came back strong in 2009. That year along with 2010 saw artists Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Sugarland, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Keri Hilson, Paramore and Katy Perry bring in a new era of music.
This year VH1 has enlisted Kelly Clarkson & Jennifer Hudson again along with Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Welch, and Jessie J to tear down the house. An excited JHud tweeted the photo below just minutes ago....

Be sure to tune in tonight for great performances, a tribute to soul singer Amy Winehouse and tributes to Chicago, Detroit, London, Philadelphia and Memphis where many consider and call the "birthplaces of soul music."
