In a brief interview with MTV, JoJo talks about how she came up with the idea to remix Drake's "Marvin's Room" and how much she was blown away to see fans go crazy for it. "I thought Drake was really emotional and honest and I was like man this is a great record...I had a little time in the car ride from my hotel to the airport, I was flying from New York to LA so I wrote my version in the car ride and then when landed in LA I went to the studio I record it and the next day I put it out on the internet and people really, really, loved it."
JoJo went on to explain that Drake reached out to her to say how much he enjoyed the mix. With that she became more comfortable stating that "it meant a lot coming from him because I didn't want him to think I was trying to take his song. It was just all out of respect."
