MTV VMA NOMINATIONS 2011: Katy Perry Leads All Artists

With the VMA's coming to your tv screen in about a month, MTV released the artist nominations last night. A big congrats goes to Katy Perry for leading all artists with 9 nominations. In a tie for second place is Kanye West and Adele who each scored a nice 7 nominations.

Katy Perry is nominated for Video of the Year and Best Female Video for "Firework," Best Pop Video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," and Best Special Effects for her chart topping “E.T.” featuring Kanye West.

Kanye's seven nods are for his collaboration with Perry, along with hits "All of the Lights" and "POWER."

Adele, who has the current best-selling album of 2011, gets her seven nominations by way of the soulful hit "Rolling in the Deep."

Although most fans are happy with the nominations, some are disapponited due to the fact that Rihanna, solely, was not nominated for any category. This will be the second year in a row that MTV has passed on Rihanna's work. Her name only comes up as Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" earned two nominations.
