Delaware Radio Station Bans Music From Tyrese After Stand Against Liquor Stores

On Wednesday, news broke that Tyrese was kicked out of a Delaware radio station based on his comments made Tuesday in regards to liquor stores being so close to schools. While visiting WJKS KISS 101.7, Tyrese took a stand and let his feelings be known on the topic of liquor stores and the affect they could have on our younger generation.

In the interview, Tyrese said "Get them cats out of here...selling alcohol right across from your kids school, homie...put the pressure on them homie...yall know how to put pressure on cats selling in your hood doin' this and doin' that."

During the commercial break, Tyrese was then asked by the studio to leave. The owner of the radio station, Tony Quartarone, told TMZ that they felt Tyrese was "disrespecting the Delaware community." Tyrese took to his twitter to voice his frustrations on Tuesday saying "If you don't STAND for something.. You will damn near fall for Anything.."

TMZ was able to speak with Quartarone who stated he wasn't upset with Tyrese's stand against liquor stores but was upset with how Tyrese addressed the listeners. "Tyrese was not kicked off the air for pointing out that liquor stores should not be located near schools...I totally agree with that. But...he proceeded to downgrade my audience by calling them 'homies.' said Quartarone.

After Tyrese openly tweeted about the events of the interview, "Quartarone says he decided to ban Ty's music until he gets an apology." According to TMZ, Tyrese called in to "TMZ Live" on Wednesday to say "he simply didn't care if the station takes his music out of rotation."

**Sounds like Mr. Quartarone won't be getting that apology**

Tyrese's new album Open Invitation will be available 11.1.11
